Hotswing is one of our favourite producers. The young Italian DJ is brilliant at sample manipulation, and, in his best form, his loopy bass grooves create dancefloor mayhem. His "Work It" cut on Earth & Days' There Was Jack imprint gives instant floor-filling love to any club. His most significant streaming success is the hooky-as-hell "Body Movin'" on GU from 2022. We would release more of his tunes if we could, but his love of a cheeky sample makes it almost impossible legally! The story of this record is a classic dance music "happy accident". Kevin McKay had been working on a version of Trapped, having loved the 2020 Carlo Lio edit and wanting to make a version he could play peak time. Alex (Hotswing) sent a track for Kevin to collaborate on, and they just so happened to be on the same key. It was a stroke of genius from Kevin to mix the two, and now we have an incredible reinterpretation of one of house music's most endearing songs.
